About Vista Silver Star Foundation

Mission: Enhancing the Quality of Senior Citizens’ Lifestyles

Vision: Empowered, Healthy and Active Senior Communities

in Vista and North San Diego County

Ice cream at HandelsVista Silver Star Foundation (VSSF) was created in 2013 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  VSSF works closely with the Gloria McClellan Senior Center in Vista as well as other senior communities. It fulfills its mission and vision project by project. Each project that VSSF commits to is designed to support and enhance seniors’ lifestyles.

VSSF fundraises to support its projects. Past and current projects have involved mahjong tournaments and classes, bocce ball games and classes, line dancing, gardening, exercise equipment, and a TV.

VSSF membership is free and available to any one who is interested in supporting the mission and vision of the foundation. VSSF believes people involved in social activities have better health, more fun, a longer life span, a curiosity to discover new things, and a thirst for learning something new, which increases brain cells as an added benefit.

The VSSF Board of Directors includes:

  • Jeanne Wilson, President
  • Darcy Clevenger, Secretary
  • Emma Guerzon, Treasurer

VSSF Board meetings are held the second Monday of the month at the Gloria McClellan Center Azalea Conference Room.
